Igor Kurganov wins EPT Grand Final High Roller
Russian poker pro Igor Kurganov won the 2012 EPT Grand Final High Roller tournament along with €1.08 million ($1.43 million). And what's impressive about this high roller victory is that Kurganov had to fight through a brutal 133-player field to get to the top.
Several prominent players met the Russian on the final table including Noah Schwartz, Phillippe Gruissem, Max Lykov and Justin Bonomo. But when it came down to the end, only Daniel Negreanu and Kurganov were left standing.

Negreanu seemed to be standing a little more upright since he was on the brink of winning the Grand Final High Roller at one point; however, Igor was able to battle back to take a huge lead. The last hand was quite interesting as Negreanu pushed his small remaining stack in with A-J(o) while Kurganov called with K-3(o). When the board paired the Russian's king, he took the hand and the victory.
Igor Kurganov now has $2,322,536 in live tournament winnings following this win while Daniel Negreanu moves into second place all-time ($16,129,218) after his $790,304 second place score.
